M.Com in Finance and Control [M.Com (FC]
MFC is a two years self financing Master degree programme in Finance, affiliated to Utkal University. This course lays stress on finance and latest development in the financial sectors & industries. It is a professional course which exclusively deals with finance and its management. It moulds and equips its student with tools and technique to deal with the financial aspects of an organization. The objective of the course is to meet the increasing need of manpower required in the financial service sector of the country and outsides. Liberalization and globalization significant and far reaching changes have taken place in financial service sectors.
The emergence of new financial institutions, new financing instruments, the rapid growth in the volume of activities in the money and capital market and the increasing complexities of the financial management and control techniques have created a strong need for qualified finance professionals to manage the sector. The MFC programme is designed to meet this need and to equip the students with the analytical skills and managerial competence in the various finance related fields. Students pursuing this course will undergo six to eight weeks internship programme in different sectors relating to finance and capital markets.
COURSE STRUCTURE
MFC is a course consisting of 4 semesters, spanning a period of two years. The first semester comprises of the subjects which acquaints the students of different discipline with the world of commerce and finance. The other three semesters divided into core subjects that offers the student sufficient skill to fulfill the objective of the course. In the beginning of the 3rd semester is an industrial tour in which the students visit different industries and obtain practical knowledge. After the fourth semester they submit a project report on different burning topics of related sectors.
