About Department
Department of Social Work in BJB Autonomous college was established in the year 2006, offering Post Graduate course in Social Work. Significantly, the department has been contributing quality teaching with rural camp and field work exposures to its students, thus contributing the professional degree holder students getting opportunities to work in various international, national and state level organizations. Faculty members of the department have been associated in many academic and developmental projects and institutions all over India. Apart from formal course, students of this department also get exposured to rural area research, tribal studies, student exchange programmes, seminars, workshops, conferences round the year on a regular basis. The course syllabus of the department has been framed as per the the professional sector demand. Also, the department keenly focuses on developing intrinsic and extrinsic skills of the students through conducting tests, examinations, presentations as well as coccurrent field study twice in a week which is mandatory for all students. Faculties of the department are highly qualified and experienced, are continuously involved in students welfare activities, both academic and social work apart from getting involved in individual research work. This department has earned a name of its own for its excellence in teaching and research activities throughout the country.
