OVERVIEW
Honours teaching in the department of chemistry had a humble beginning with eight students admitted in the first batch in the year 1970 – 71. It has traversed a long way since, charting an eventful path to attain the present position with fifty-four students being admitted this session.
The Department has been a front runner in curricular and extracurricular activities of the college. The department boasts of well equipped laboratory, well stocked seminar library, a research room and Wi-Fi facilities. Apart from teaching in basic science, the department also undertakes career counseling to the students of all branches of science for higher studies as well as placements.
